Exhibition Centre
Luganofiere rents out the spaces of the Exhibition Centre to fair promoters; the area is spread out in 7 pavilions covering a total surface of 12'000 m². The area is located at Campo Marzio Nord, near the University, the Convention Centre and the Foce Theatre. Thanks to the Stabilimenti Comunali Office, that manages the spaces of the Exhibition Centre, besides the fairs, Luganofiere provides the possibility of organizing events, congresses and private parties for a maximum of up to 2'500 people.
The City of Lugano recognizes the importance of developing its fair and congress hub, which represents one of city’s growth and development models. Different projects are now being assessed so as to renew infrastructures, adapting them to the most vanguard requirements of both national and international exhibitors. As to the area of Campo Marzio Nord, where the pavilions are located at the moment, an international competition has already been launched for restructuring the area in order to extend the congress and fair offer. At present, the project is being updated. As to the new pavilions of the main fair, their insertion within the context of the New Cornaredo Neighbourhood is being assessed; in this case they would be located near the exit of the
Vedeggio-Cassarate tunnel, a town planning project that wants to requalify a large area North of the city.
